"I help people navigate important decisions with clarity and confidence."

ALAN SCHATTEN, CPA

One of the things I hear most often from people is that I have a unique ability to understand complex situations, connect the important pieces, and communicate them in a way that makes sense.

That combination of perspective and communication is at the heart of my work.

Every person I work with has a unique story, different goals, and important decisions to make. Those decisions may involve a business, personal wealth, taxes, investments, retirement, succession, family, or often all of them at the same time.

I have learned that the best decisions are rarely made by looking at one issue in isolation. They come from understanding how every decision affects the whole.

That has become the foundation of my work.

As a CPA and Trusted Advisor, my role extends well beyond accounting and tax. I help people connect the dots across business, finance, accounting, tax, wealth, technology, and personal goals so they can understand their options and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Just as importantly, I believe advice only has value when people truly understand it. My role is not to impress clients with technical language or make complex issues sound more complicated than they need to be. It is to meet people where they are, simplify complexity without oversimplifying the issues, and communicate in a way that helps them make informed decisions.

My entrepreneurial journey began at twelve years old, detailing cars and shoveling snow in my Brooklyn neighborhood. That early curiosity about business stayed with me. My summers and holidays were spent working in my father's CPA firm, counting inventory throughout the Carolinas, and learning the textile industry on Fashion Avenue in New York City.

Over the years, I have worked with people across manufacturing, distribution, construction, technology, biotechnology, professional services, and many other industries. I have had the privilege of helping clients build successful businesses, navigate significant transitions, retire with confidence, and move on to the next chapter of their lives.

Those experiences have reinforced something I believe deeply:

The greatest value an advisor brings is not simply technical expertise. It is judgment, perspective, and the ability to help people see connections others may miss.

Often, that means sitting beside clients in meetings with investment managers, attorneys, bankers, insurance professionals, and other advisors. I am not there to replace those professionals. I am there to help ensure every recommendation is considered within the context of the client's complete financial picture.

I know when to listen, when to ask questions, and when to challenge. My role is to help people make the best overall decision—not simply the best decision within one area of expertise.

Today, working from West Palm Beach, I work with a select group of clients who value experience, discretion, responsiveness and thoughtful counsel. While Florida is now home, I continue to serve many longstanding clients on Long Island and beyond.

My goal is simple: help people see the full picture so they can make better decisions.
